ISO stands for International Standards Organization. The ISO is a voluntary organization that was founded in 1946. The ISO's members consist of the national standards organizations in over 89 countries that are members.

ISO's United States member is ANSI. ISO is responsible to producing performance and manufacturing standards for a multitude of industries.
